Solar Panels Celebration

  • Church of the Good Shepherd 214 Main Street Nashua, NH (map)

Church of the Good Shepherd, Nashua, together with the Episcopal Diocese of NH and the “Solar Saints,” an Episcopal Church organization, announces a Solar Celebration to take place October 12 starting at 1:30 PM, on the front lawn of Church of the Good Shepherd. After years of planning, a successful fundraising campaign, and a grant from the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire, Good Shepherd contracted with ReVision Energy to install solar panels this August. They will provide clean power to the church and reduce the environmental impact of running an historic building.

The Episcopal Church of New Hampshire is committed to environmental stewardship through Sustainability Grants, the work of our Earth Care Commission, and the Solar Saints group through their conference on accessing solar power via energy provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act. Pastor Kathy states that, “Creation Care is a vital part of our ministry. Faithfully stewarding the earth’s resources is a mission of the Episcopal Church as a whole and a focus for Church of the Good Shepherd.”

Attending our celebration will be Mayor Jim Donchess of Nashua, Bishop Rob Hirschfeld of the Episcopal Diocese of NH, Nashua Energy Manager Doria Brown, representatives of ReVision Energy, members of the Solar Saints, Pastor Kathy Boss (CGS Nashua), the Church of the Good Shepherd Green Team, and other parishioners. All are welcome to join us as the solar panels are officially dedicated and blessed, and we ceremonially “flip the switch.”

Church of the Good Shepherd is an open and affirming Episcopal Church located in downtown Nashua, in a beautiful building consecrated in 1878. There are two Sunday services, one at 8 AM and one at 10 AM. See our website for more.
